This might sound really silly, but I hadn't really thought how complicated my craft is! While I was cutting out a new creation, I started counting the bits. Here they are. All twenty of them. And one of those will be cut into two. This bit takes up to half an hour, including carefully choosing fabrics. (I'm wishing I'd used a brighter fabric to demonstrate this, but hey, whatcha gonna do?!)
About two hours of pressing, sewing, tidying up the loose threads, choosing a button and sewing it on, and it's ready! I think it looks rather nice, too.
Now, this morning I find myself pondering new photographs, so I'm off with a step ladder and a basket of bags to find a pretty tree. Watch this space for the results!
On Sunday I ran my first 10k race, and I did it in a faster time than I was expecting - just shy of 54 minutes! (I was extra speedy because I'd double booked my day and had to rush back to the theatre for a rehearsal - more on that another day!) Massive thanks to the organisers and participants of the Bath Two Tunnels event - what a fab day!
Beans, beans good for your heart :) I certainly hope so, because between runner-bean season at our allotment, and the Offspring turning vegan, we've eaten a BARREL of beans lately! You can just see our baby bean plants behind these spud flowers...
Very vague recipe, anyone? Home made baked-beans by me Chop an onion really finely, and gently sautee in the oil of your choice till really soft. Add a little cloud of paprika and some turmeric, with a tablespoonful of tomato puree and a splosh of water (it wants to look suitable saucy!). Then chuck in a tin of butter beans and heat through. YUM! We ate them with leftover nut-loaf and some peas.
Today was a day at home, so I managed to sew up these little dog walking bags - they're great for popping some poop-bags in, with your phone, keys and treats when you go for a stroll with your four-legged chum. Or even with your two legged chums, if you're not really a pet-person (although I'd hope you'd manage without the poop-bags then!) These are available from my shop if you would like one. I love sewing them - they're so simple and when I hold a bunch of them in my hand I feel like I've got a bunch of upside-down balloons!
